Men's Tennis Drops to Monmouth and Princeton

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.- The Boston College men’s tennis team dropped to Monmouth, 4-3,  and Princeton, 6-1, this weekend in Princeton, N.J.

The Eagles fell in a hard-fought battle against Monmouth on Saturday, 4-3. BC won the doubles point, but only secured two singles victories. Sophomore Kyle Childree defeated Monmouth’s Freddy Marcinkowski at the No. 4 spot, 6-3, 6-3 and classmate Alexandre Thirouin prevailed at the No. 6 spot with a win over Ramy Bekheit, 6-2, 6-1.

On Sunday, Princeton stole all doubles matches, and all but one singles match. The Eagles came out victorious in one of their singles matches when Alexandre Thirouin defeated Mohamed El Tonbari, 6-5, 6-2.

Boston College was shorthanded in both matches without junior Philip Nelson at the No. 1 spot and senior Michael McGinnis.

The Eagles are back in action at home on Saturday, Feb. 15 with a double-header against Bryant University (10 a.m.) and Virginia Tech (5 p.m.)
