The Boston College swimming and diving team placed 60 student-athletes on the 57th annual Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll, which recognizes academic excellence by student-athletes during the 2012-13 academic year.
Among the students honored were four-time recipients James Boretti, Marty Long, Caitlin Molloy, Alyssa Niebrugge, Breanna Stewart, Connor Stickney, and Stephanos Tziolis. Boston College was ranked second in the ACC with 391 student-athletes honored by the conference.
Marty Long, who finished his career as the first diver in school history to record 100 wins and reach 1000 points, was also selected for an ACC Postgraduate Scholarship. Long earned the Weaver-James-Corrigan award, named after the late Jim Weaver and Bob James, as well as Gene Corrigan, the first three ACC commissioners.
This scholarship is awarded to those who have performed with distinction in both the classroom and their respective sport, along with demonstrating exemplary conduct in the community.
