The Boston College men's swimming and diving team placed second out of eight teams at the Terrier Invite, hosted by Boston University, from Nov. 18-20. BC closed out the weekend with 712 points to finish just behind the winner of the invitational, Yale.
The Eagles turned in several strong performances, in both individual and team events, throughout the course of the weekend. James Boretti took home BC's only first place finish, winning the 400-Yard Individual Medley with a time of 3:56.17.
Boston College earned two top-five finishes in the 200-Yard IM, as Boretti took second with a time of 1:52.55 and Andrew Stranick placed fourth (1:53.66). The BC "A" team in the 400-Yard Medley Relay, made up of Boretti, Stickney, Timothy Corrigan and Collin Thilo, finished fourth with a time of 3:25.05. Stickney, Thilo, Tim Benage and Sean Murphy combined to place third in the 200-Yard Medley Relay, as well. In addition, Boretti, Thilo, Eddie Timmerman and Nick Henze took second in the 800-Yard Freestyle Relay.
Thilo placed second in the 100-Yard Butterfly with a time of 50.28. Murphy and Stranick finished second and third, respectively, in the 100-Yard Backstroke, while Alex Rudolph took fifth. Rudolph then earned second in the 200-Yard Breaststroke (20:04.34), while Boretti took fourth and Murphy took sixth. Corrigan placed third in the 200-Yard Butterfly (1:52.91).
BC returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 3 when the team travels to Williams College for a meet set to begin at 12 p.m.
