Women's Swimming Fall to Liberty and Maine

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The men's swimming and diving team defeated Maine this past weekend 216-81, while the women lost to both Liberty (172-117) and Maine (164-136).
Senior diver Marty Long and sophomore Nick Henze were chosen as the Outstanding Performers for the meet. Long finished first in both the one meter dive (287.57) and the three meter dive (314.62). Henze took first in both the 50 yard freestyle (21.70) and the 500 yard freestyle (4:51.45) and was the second leg of the first place 200 yard freestyle relay team (1:26.14).
Senior Connor Stickney was awarded Outstanding Performance for his first place finish in the 100 yard freestyle (47.34) as was teammate Andrew Stranick for taking first in the 100 yard butterfly (53.04).
On the women's team freshman Maureen Barron was named Outstanding Performer of the meet for helping her 200 yard medley relay team finish fourth and her 200 yard freestyle relay team take 200, while she finished fourth in the 50 yard freestyle (24.56) and 8th in the 100 yard freestyle (55.87).
Freshman Samantha Couillard's third place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:09.10) was recognized as the Outstanding Performance of the meet.
The Eagles will be back in action November 4 when they host Keene State.
