M. Swimming Collects Second Victory of the Year at NECI

Chestnut Hill, MA-The Boston College men's and women's swim teams dominated this past weekend's Northeast Catholic Invitational. The men's team scored a total of 931 points. The second closest team was Niagara University with 581 points.
The Outstanding Eagles of the meet were Juniors Nick Henze and Andrew Stranick. Henze set a new NECI record in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:43.24 and came in first in the 200 yard freestyle relay with Joseph Costa, Michael Bryant, and Dan Kelly.
Stranick set a new NECI record in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 58.65 and helped win and set a record in the 200 yard medley relay. Outstanding performance of the meet went to sophomore Dan Kelly. Kelly broke the NECI record for the 50 yard Freestyle with a time of 20.92 seconds.
Boston College women's swim team was equally as impressive this weekend. They scored a total of 938.5 points this weekend. The Outstanding Eagles of Meet were sophomore Maureen Barron and graduate student Ann Ragan Kearns.
Barron set an NECI record with a time of 24.47 in the 50 yard freestyle. Kearns dominated the 100 yard freestyle. She set a new NECI record with a time of 10:45.77 and crushed the rest of the field by nearly thirteen seconds.
The men's team looks to continue their success against Georgetown and Yale this weekend in Washington, D.C. Boston College women's swimming takes on only Georgetown this weekend in the nation's capital.
