Men's and Women's Swimming Defeat Fairfield

Both the men's and women's swimming and diving teams defeated Fairfield Friday night. The men won by a score of 153-129 while the women won 152-137.

The Outstanding Performers of the meet for the men's team were seniors Marty Long and Connor Stickney. Long won both the 3 meter dive, with a score of 265.35, and the 1 meter dive, with a score of 272.70. Stickney set a BC record in the 200 meter medley relay as his team won with a time of 1:48.95 and he took first in both the 100 meter backstroke (1:00.68) and the 200 meter backstroke (2:14.75). Stickney also helped set a BC record in the 200 meter freestyle relay which came in second (1:37.07).

Junior Sean Murphy had the outstanding performance of the meet for the Eagles for setting a BC record in the 100 meter breaststroke, winning with a time of 1:05.85.

The Outstanding Performer for the women's team was seniors Kathryn Raplee. She won the 200 meter freestyle (2:12.59) and the 100 meter freestyle (1:01.67).

Senior Caitlin Molloy and freshman Maureen Barron had the Outstanding Performances of the meet. Molloy won the 800 meter freestyle (9:35.17) while Barron took first in the 50 meter freestyle (27.68).

The Eagles will return to action October 12 when they host Bryant University.
