Men's Swimming Finishes Season at ACC Championships

Greensboro, N.C. - The Boston College men's swimming team concluded its season with the 2013 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships, finishing eighth with 120 points.

Senior Connor Stickney and sophomore Nick Henze led the team with seven final events, while senior Edward Timmerman swam in six and freshman Dan Kelly in five.

Twelve Boston College records were set at the conference meet, including the 200-yard medley relay time of 1:31.30 by the team of Stickney, Kelly and sophomores Andrew Stranick and Michael Bryant and the 800-yard freestyle relay time of 6:43.29 by Henze, Timmerman, senior Jimmy Boretti and freshman Drew Cuttic. Timmerman, Henze, Stickney and Kelly also set the school record for the 200-yard free relay (1:21.37).

Kelly placed 28th overall in the 50-yard freestyle race while freshman Matthew Zerweck finished 24th overall in the 400-yard IM. Sophomore Tim Benage placed 19th overall in the 100-yard butterfly while Henze did the same in the 200-yard freestyle race. Stranick set the BC school record (55.12) in the preliminaries of the 100-yard breaststroke and went on to place 16th overall in the meet.

Virginia won the league championship with 759.5 points. Virginia Tech was second (597) and North Carolina third (549).
