Men's Swimming Competes at ACC Championship

Christiansburg, Va. - Members of the Boston College men's swimming and diving team competed at the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship from Feb. 22-25. The Virginia Cavaliers captured this year's conference title, while BC finished in 10th place with 78 points ahead of Miami.

Nick Henze recorded the Eagles' best individual finish of the championship. He qualified for the C-Final of the 200-Yard Freestyle and turned in a final time of 1:39.75 to take 18th overall in the event. Henze was closely followed by teammates Eddie Timmerman and Joe Costa, who finished 21st and 23rd, respectively.

Timothy Corrigan and Andrew Stranick led Boston College with two finals appearances apiece. Corrigan competed in the C-Final for the 100-Yard Butterfly (22nd, 49.57) and the 200-Yard Butterfly (23rd, 1:52.48). Stranick swam in the C-Final for the 100-Yard and 200-Yard Breaststroke, taking 23rd (56.94) overall in the 100-Yard, and 20th (2:03.69) in the 200.

James Boretti also appeared in a C-Final of the 400-Yard Individual Medley for the Eagles, placing 23rd overall with a time of 4:03.88. Marty Long collected 230.05 points to finish 26th overall in the Three-Meter Dive.

Corrigan, Stranick, Connor Stickney and Collin Thilo registered BC's best relay finish at the championship, as the team took eighth in the 400-Yard Medley Relay with a time of 3:22.87.
