CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College men's and women's swimming and diving teams swept Providence in a home meet this past weekend. The men won by a score of 154.5-100.5 and the women topped the Friars 155-118.
On the men's side senior Connor Stickney won the 100 yard freestyle (47.36), the 200 yard medley relay (1:38.77), and was part of the winning 200 yard freestyle relay team (1:30.13). Sophomore Nick Henze added a win in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:03.17) and took second in the 200 yard IM (1:59.78).
Sophomore Stephanie Ng and freshmen Maureen Barron and Katherine Vanasse led the way for the women's team. Ng took first in the 100 yard backstroke (1:02.75), second in the 200 yard backstroke (2:14.37), and helped her 200 yard medley relay team finish second (1:54.60). Barron won the 100 yard freestyle (54.99) and was part of the winning 200 yard medley relay team (1:52.84). Vanasse touched the wall first in the 200 yard freestyle (1:59.09) and her 200 yard freestyle relay team had the fastest time (1:42.02).
The Eagles will be back in action February 2 at Boston University.
