Swimming sweeps Northeast Catholic Invitational
As a Junior (2013-2014): Swept both breaststroke events at Boston University's Terrier Invitational... set both a Boston University pool record and BC school record with a 54.81 in the 100 breaststroke... 54.81 was an NCAA B cut... his 2:02.72 in the 200 breaststroke was a seasonal best... also took 1stas part of BC's record setting 200 medley relay (1:30.50)... was 3rd in the 200 IM (1.51.83)... garnered twenty-six 1st place finishes in dual meet competition (16 individual & 10 relay)... set three BC dual meet records in the 100 and 200 breast (57.0, 208.7) and 200 medley relay (1:33.8)... placed 26thand 28that the ACC Championship in the 100 and 200 breast respectively... coming off a broken thumb, and set a new BC record in the 200 medley relay (1:29.20), splitting 24.90 on the breaststroke leg... was also on the new BC Record in the 400 medley relay of 3:18.67 where he split a 54.82 for his 100 breast... Andrew was a Mary Pawlak award winner, Mid-Major All-American, and a member of the Deans list for the spring semester 2014... Earned Academic All-America from the CSCAA for the 2014 season
AS A SOPHMORE-(2012-2013): At the 2013 ACC Championships in Greensboro North Carolina, placed 13th in the 200 breast and 16th in the 100 breast... Preliminary time of 55.11 in the 100breast made him the first swimmer in BC history to achieve an NCAA B qualifying standard.... final time of 2:00.46 in the 200 breast was also under the 2013 US Open time standard.... Both were new BC records.... Andrew was also part of BC's record setting 200 and 400 medley relay teams... chosen as one of BC's Outstanding Performers for the ACC's.... In addition, Andrew was tabbed as part of the 2012-2013 All- ACC Academic Men's Swimming & Diving Team... In the second half of dual meet competition, garnered ten 1st place finishes, and was named outstanding performer on 3 occasions... also set a dual meet record in the 200 breast (2:08.76), and the 200 medley relay in a tri-meet against George Mason and Towson... Recipient of 2013 Athletic Directors award for academic achievement... Competed in 4 individual events and 3 relays at the Terrier invitational... Touched the wall in prelims of the 100 BR in 55.71, eclipsing the previous school record by nearly a second... swam 56.19 in finals which was good for 2nd place... also swam the 200 breast, touching 1st in a time of 2:03.44 which was also a new BC record... Also swam the 200 IM, touching 3rd in 1:52.72, and the 100 fly, finishing 14th in a time of 51.51... Also swam on the 200 and 400 medley relays, placing 2nd and 3rd respectively... In the first half of the dual meet season, tallied 8 first place finishes and set BC dual meet records in the 100 and 200 breast, swimming 58.69 and 2:09.22 in the season opener against Army and Rowan... AS A FRESHMAN (2011-2012): Capped an excellent freshman year at the ACC championships, placing 22nd in the 100 breast (56.93), and 20th in the 200 breast (2:03.69), with both swims setting new Boston College Records... Also competed as a part of the 400 medley relay, swimming the breastroke leg in 56.38, placing 8th overall... During the dual meet season, posted a win in the season opener against Army in a season best time of 2:10.12, as well as competing in the 100brst, placing 4th... Tallied a win in the 200 brst against Bryant.... Missed the remainder of the dual meet season up until ACC's due to a broken wrist.... recipient of the Athletic Directors Academic Achievement Award.
