Swimming Sweeps Weekend Meets

Men's and women's teams defeat Canisius and Niagara

AS A JUNIOR (2010-2011): Competed in the breaststroke and IM events. Swam to three personal best times...named outstanding performance for the 100 breaststroke vs. University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee... held dual meet bests in the 50 breaststroke (27.98 at Tufts) and possibly the 100 breaststroke (100.66 against Williams and Fordham) as well as the 200 medley relay and 400 medley relay... placed top 6 in the 100 (58.14) and 200 (2:07.32) breaststroke at the Terrier Invitational. These performances are respectively the fourth and fifth fastest times in school history... member of the ECAC team that competed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Finalist in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes. Member of the 200 and 400 medley relay teams... recipient of the Boston College Leadership Award... named captain for the 2011-2012 season... named to the 2010-2011 All-ACC Academic Honor Roll and also was a recipient of the Athletic Director's Academic Achievement Award.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2009-2010): Competed in the breaststroke, butterfly, and IM events. Swam to five personal best times... placed Top 5 in the 200 butterfly and Top 10 in the 100 breaststroke at the Terrier Invitational... member of the ACC team that competed in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. His performance in the 200 breaststroke (2:09.94) is the seventh fastest time in school history... recipient of the Kevin Conway Award for Outstanding Sophomore... named to the 2009-2010 All-ACC Academic Honor Roll and also was a recipient of the Athletic Director's Academic Achievement Award.

AS A FRESHMAN (2008-2009): Competed mostly in the butterfly and IM events. Swam to four personal best times... Terrier Invitational finalist in the 500 freestyle, 400 IM, and 200 butterfly... finished 2nd in the 200 butterfly in the Williams-Fordham tri-meet... member of the ACC team that competed in College Park, Maryland...named to the 2008-2009 All-ACC Academic Honor Roll and also was a recipient of the Athletic Director's Academic Achievement Award.

BEFORE BC: Michael is from Olney, Maryland and attended the Georgetown Preparatory School... played lacrosse and ran track for a year... varsity lettered three years in cross country and four years in swimming...team captain in 2008... helped his team to four consecutive Washington Metropolitan Swimming Championship titles as well as being ranked 2nd and 7th in the nation in 2007 and 2008, respectively, for private schools.

PERSONAL: Michael has a finance concentration in the Carroll School of Management. He is the son of Bill and Tish. He has one sister (18) who attends and plays lacrosse for the University of Virginia. At home Michael swims for the Rockville Montgomery Swim Club.
