M. Swimming Opens 2011-12 Season at West Point

Veteran leaders and talented freshmen look to succeed this season

As A Junior (2013-2014):Keffer swam in numerous meets this season for the Eagles and concentrated most of his time in the freestyle category...Luke took 5th place in the 50 yd. freestyle against Georgetown early in the season and built on that experience...At the Terrier Invitational, Luke placed 2nd in the 400 yd. freestyle relay...Keffer's strongest performance came against Williams...Luke took 3rd in the 50 freestyle, 3rd in the 100 freestyle, and 1st in the 400 freestyle relay.

BEFORE BC: Began swimming at the age of seven for a recreational team ... moved to the Sierra Marlins year round USA team based in Folsom, CA ... swam for the Granite Bay High School swim team and helped continue a 15 year long winning streak ... was a member of the only two varsity male section champion teams in school history an automatic All American cut in the 400 free relay both years ... broke the Granite Bay High School 400 free relay record and were ranked in the top 30 400 free relays nationwide ... was also a member of the First Team (top v16 swimmers in the league)

PERSONAL: From Roseville, CA ... son of Ann and Joel Keffer ... attended Granite Bay High School as an International Baccalaureate Program diploma candidate and graduated second in a class of 540 students ... younger sister, Jenna (16) who attends St. Francis high school and plays competitive soccer ... spent a summer shadowing a neurosurgeon and observed a total of 8 surgeries ... entering BC as a biology major in hopes of attending medical school.
