Swimming sweeps Northeast Catholic Invitational

AS A JUNIOR (2013-2014):Nick compiled a total of six Outstanding Performer designations throughout the season...Individually; Henze took first place seventeen times, coming in numerous races but seemed to specialize in the 200 yard freestyle event...Nick posted a 1:41.23 in the 200 freestyle against Williams, a Flynn Recreational Complex record...Nick ended the season with strong performances at the ACC Championships.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2012-2013): Nick was recognized as an Outstanding Performer for BC at the University of Maine meet, the Terrier Invitational, the Williams College and Fordham University meet, the Marist University meet, the Tufts University meet, and the 2013 ACC Championships...At the 2012 Terrier invitational, he made the A final in the 50 free (21.42), 100 free (45.88), 200 free (1:40.01), and 500 free (4:36.05), and swam on the second place 200, 400, and 800 A free relays and the third place 400 A medley relay...He held team dual meet bests in the 100 free, 200 free, 500 free, 100 free split, as well as the 200 free relay, 400 free relay, and 400 medley relay...Member of the 2013 ACC squad in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he placed 19 th in the 200 free (1:38.44) and also swam the 50 free (20.78), 100 free (44.97), and was a part of BC's 200, 400, and 800 free relays and the 400 medley relay...Set a BC school record in all these events at ACCs except for the 50 free...Recipient of the Athletic Director's Academic Achievement Award and ACC Scholar Athlete Award...Recipient of the Harold M. Groden Award for Outstanding Performance throughout the season...Overall scored a total of 507 points for the team...Voted as the MVP of the men's team for the season.

AS A FRESHMAN (2011-2012): Outstanding Performer at the ACC Championships, NE Catholic Invite and Niagara University meet...had a top 8 finish in the 200 free and top 16 finishes in the 50, 100, and 500 free at the Terrier Invitational and swam on the 200, 400, and 800 free relays...had 38 first place finishes throughout the season ...held team dual meet bests in the 200 free, 200 free relay, and 100 free-split...member of the 2012 ACC squad and placed 18th in the 200 free, also swam the 50 free, 100 free, and 200, 400, and 800 free relays...set a BC school record in the 200 free relay at ACCs.

BEFORE BC: Varsity team for four years and three-time First Team All League... First team California Central Coast Section senior year. High School Swim Team MVP junior and senior years, and achieved All-American Consideration times in both individual and relay events ... Team captain as a senior and placed in the top six for both individual events and a relay event in the California Central Coast Section Championships...holds the school record in the 200 free and 400 free relay...named Menlo-Atherton High's 2010-2011 Male Senior Athlete of the Year.

PERSONAL: Born and raised in Menlo Park, California ... attended MenloAtherton High School ... son of John and Betsy Henze ... sister, Kaitlin, 22, graduated from Elon University in North Carolina, and sister, Samantha, is a junior in high school ... enjoys outdoor activities such as water polo, surfing at the beach, and skiing and hiking in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
