Men's Soccer Earns Fourth Seed In NCAA Championship

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The No. 13 Boston College men's soccer team earned the nation's fourth overall seed and a first-round bye in the 2011 NCAA Championship, announced Monday by the selection committee.
The Eagles will face the winner of the first-round game between Colgate (11-4-6) and Rutgers (9-6-3) that will be played on November 17. BC will host the second-round game on Sunday, November 20 at 1 p.m. at the Newton Campus Field.
Boston College (14-6-0, 4-4-0 ACC) was ranked seventh in the RPI entering last week. The Eagles reached the finals of the ACC Championship with wins over No. 4 Maryland and No. 24 Duke. BC has four victories against teams in the top 25 of the RPI this year and all of them have come since October 22.
The 2011 NCAA Championship marks the fifth-straight season and 11th time overall the Eagles have earned an NCAA Championship berth. Head coach Ed Kelly has led BC to 10 (of its 11) NCAA Tournament appearances, earning bids in 1990, 2000-02, 2004 and from 2007-11.
