Boston College freshman Charlie Rugg has earned Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Player of the Week honors with Wake Forest's Austin da Luz, according to a league announcement.

Rugg was involved in all three Boston College goals scored in its 2-0-0 week and scored both goals in its 2-1 win at No. 2 North Carolina on Saturday, Oct. 17. The 6-foot, 175-pound forward assisted on classmate Colin Murphy's decisive goal in a 1-0 victory over Quinnipiac early in the week.

BC's scoring leader with 15 points - six goals and three assists - in 13 games, the Roslindale, Mass., resident has two two-goal performances this season. He also scored twice in BC's 3-0 home win over Fairfield on Sept. 15.

Rugg shares the award with da Luz, who tallied six points - one goal and four assists - in leading fifth-ranked Wake Forest to road victories over the College of Charleston and No. 14 NC State.

Rugg also earned team-of-the-week honors from three soccer publications - Soccer America, College Soccer News and Top Drawer Soccer - for his efforts.

Boston College, which is 8-6 overall and 3-2 in league play, has won three straight and will play at Holy Cross on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m.

Both Rugg's performance and Boston College men's soccer, which has three victories over opponents ranked within the nation's top-15, are noted in theacc.com's weekly "Hot List."
