Men's Soccer Defeats Villanova, 3-0

Three Eagles tallied goals to lead Boston College over Villanova, 3-0, in a BIG EAST match played at Taunton Field in Taunton, Mass.
After a scoreless first half, freshman Chris Cleary (Milton, Mass.) notched what proved to be the gamewinner in the 56th minute. Senior Danny Horan (Dublin, Ireland) gave the Eagles a two goal advantage with his third tally of the season at 83:30.
Senior Chris Lynch (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) capped the games scoring five minutes later off an assist from Horan.
Sophomore Chris Hamblin (Bristol, England) made six saves to record his fifth shutout of the season. Villanova started John Allen in goal and replaced him with Matt Malek who made seven saves for the Wildcats.
Boston College improves to 5-6-2 on the season, 2-4-1 in the BIG EAST. The Wildcats fall to 2-10 overall, 0-8 in the conference. The Eagles will return to action on Sunday, October 18 at 1 p.m. when they face BIG EAST rival Rutgers at Taunton Field.
