The Boston College men's soccer team is ranked ninth in the BIG EAST Preseason Poll selected by a vote of the league's 12 head coaches. The Eagles received 39 points. Connecticut was selected first with 121 points.
In 1999, Boston College finished with a 6-9-2 mark, including a 2-9 record in league play. Head Coach Ed Kelly returns nine starters in 2000, including his top eight point-getters from 1999. Sophomore Casey Schmidt, an All-Rookie team selection last year, was the Eagles' leading scorer with 24 points (11 goals, 2 assists).
