2014 Schedule

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College men's soccer team has released its 2014 schedule, highlighted by eight conference matches and six contests against NCAA Tournament teams last season.

The Eagles will host four ACC matches at the Newton Campus Field, including conference newcomer Louisville which has advanced to the NCAA Tournament in each of the last seven seasons.

Boston College opens the 2014 campaign with home matches against Iona (August 29) and Fordham (August 31) on Labor Day weekend and then has its first road match at Quinnipiac (September 4) the following Thursday. The Bobcats were an NCAA Tournament team last year after winning the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

The Eagles return home to host Rhode Island (September 7) before opening the conference schedule with Clemson (September 12) in Newton. The Tigers advanced to the NCAA Tournament last fall.

After an away match with nearby rival Harvard (September 16), BC hosts Louisville (September 19) for the first time as members of the ACC. The Eagles are then on the road for consecutive ACC matches at Duke (September 26) and Notre Dame (October 3), which won the 2013 national championship.

Boston College closes the season with five of its last seven matches at home. NC State (October 10) and Brown (October 14) visit Newton before the Eagles travel to Winston-Salem to take on Wake Forest (October 17), which made it to the third round of the NCAA Tournament last season.

BC gets its longest home stretch off the season from October 21-28. Boston University (October 21) begins the three-match homestand followed by the final ACC home match coming against North Carolina (October 24), another NCAA Tournament contender a year ago. BC's final home match of the year is against Dartmouth (October 28).

The Eagles conclude the regular season with a contest at Syracuse (October 31) on Halloween night.

The 2014 ACC Championship begins on November 5 at campus sites. The quarterfinals are November 9 on campuses, and then the semifinals and final will be held on November 14 and 16 at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.
