Eagles On Both Sides Of U.S.-Canada Friendly
Jan. 29, 2013
Former Eagles Alejandro Bedoya and Kyle Bekker will square off against each other when the United States takes on Canada on Tuesday night in an international friendly in Houston. The match will be televised on ESPN2 at 9 p.m.
Bedoya was one of 25 players called to the United States National Team's January camp, which head coach Jurgen Klinsmann called a "preparation camp" for the World Cup qualifiers that begin in February.
Bedoya has 13 caps with the U.S. National Team with his most recent appearance coming in 2010.
Bekker has been busy the last couple of weeks. Toronto FC selected him with the third overall pick in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft on January 17. He then earned his first international cap when he appeared in Canada's 4-0 loss to Denmark on January 26.
Bekker earned the start in his first national team appearance for Canada and played 67 minutes.
This marks the first time that two Eagles will face each other in an international soccer match.
