BC Men's Soccer Beaten by Seton Hall 2-0
CHESTNUT HILL, Ma. - The Boston College men's soccer team fell to the
Seton Hall Pirates this afternoon 2-0 at Shea Field. On the season, the Eagles
record falls to 1-2-0 and 1-1-0 in the Big East Conference. Today's victory was
the first of the season for the Pirates, improving their record to 1-2-0 on the
season and in Big East play.
Scoring for Seton Hall were seniors Bill Deftos and Frank Collado. Deftos' goal
came at 11:55 of the first half when he broke in alone against BC goalie Chris
Hamblin and lofted a shot over his head for the score. Collado scored his goal
on a break-away from the Eagle defense on the left side, blasting a shot past
Hamblin at the 27:05 mark.
Hamblin finished the day with nine saves, while shutting out Seton Hall in the
second half. Seton Hall goalie Derek Martin stopped six BC shots, while
recording his first shutout of the season.
Boston College's next game will be at Big East rival Georgetown University on
Saturday, September 13.
