Boston College Ties Harvard
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College freshman Kevin Boyd (Del Mar,
CA) opened the scoring early in the first half and Harvard junior Zachary Viders
(Huntington, NY) came off the bench to even the score before intermission as the
two teams battled to a 1-1 overtime tie at Shea Field.
Boyd recorded his third collegiate goal at 6:22 to give the Eagles an early
advantage. Senior Mat Dunn assisted on the score.
Harvard then took control of the action, keeping play at their offensive
end. Viders' goal at 30:32 finished the scoring for the day. Senior Tom
McLaughlin assisted on the Crimson goal. Harvard outshot BC, 5-3, in the first
half.
Boston College dominated play in the second half and throughout most of the
overtime sessions. By match's end, the Eagles held a 21-11 advantage in shots.
Boston College freshman Chris Hamblin made two saves. Harvard junior Jordan
Dupuis made seven stops.
Boston College's record stands a 1-3-1 with the tie, while Harvard's record
goes to 0-1-1.
