Box Score

RALEIGH, N.C. - Zabarle Kollie scored both NC State goals - including the game-winner in the 87th minute - to lead the Wolfpack to a 2-1 win against the No. 13 Boston College men's soccer team Friday night at Dail Soccer Field.

BC junior Kyle Bekker scored his fifth goal of the season on a free kick in the 29th minute to tie the game, 1-1.

The start of the match was delayed a half hour due to inclement weather.

NC State struck first in the 10th minute to take the early lead. Chandler Knox fired the first shot of the match but it went wide, and after a BC corner kick, Kollie took a loose ball and went on a breakaway. He finished the chance to put the Wolfpack up 1-0.

Freshman Diego Medina-Mendez notched the first scoring chance for BC in the 24th minute but NC State keeper Fabian Otte made the save. The Eagles cashed in on their next chance four minutes later following a NC State corner. After the Wolfpack committed a foul from 30 yards out, Bekker stepped up to the ball and sent a shot into the back of the net for the equalizer.

Both teams had several chances in the second half in a back and forth 45 minutes, but it was Kollie again who broke through for a goal. After junior Justin Luthy saved a Kollie shot at 84:39, Kollie got the ball again less than two minutes later and finished it for the game-winning goal.

Matt Ingram and Knox assisted on the game-clincher for NC State (4-4-2, 1-2-0 ACC).

Luthy recorded four saves in goal while Otte stopped three shots.

The Eagles (7-3-0, 1-2-0) have a week off and return to action at the Newton Soccer Complex when they host Wake Forest next Friday at 7 p.m.
