NATICK, Mass. - Boston University sophomore Matt McManus scored the game-winning goal at 71:52 to lead Boston University to a 1-0 victory over Boston College at Natick High School.
McManus scored from five yards off an assist from sophomore Chris Bone. The Eagles outshot the Terriers 12-9 but could not convert on numerous opportunities from inside the box.
Boston College sophomore Chris Hamblin (Bristol, England) made two saves. Senior Brian Murphy made seven saves for Boston University.
Boston College fell to 2-1 on the season and the Terriers improved to 2-0. The Eagles will return to action on Friday, September 11 at the Brown University Tournament in Providence, R.I. Boston College will face Brown at 1 p.m. on Friday and Yale at noon on Saturday.
