Sides face off for first time as ACC members

CHARLIE DAVIES; born June 25, 1986 ... was a member of the U.S. National Team that competed in the 2007 Copa America in Venezuela from June 26 to July 15 ... signed a professional contract with Club Hammarby IF of the Swedish Premier Division in January 2007 ... established Boston College single-season records for points (36; 2006) and goals (15; 2006) .... selected to represent the United States on the 2005 Under-20 National Team ... was a member of the U.S. Under-20 National Team that finished atop Group A at the CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament (in Carson, Calif.) in January 2005 ... led the U.S. Under-18 National Team to the 2005 Milk Cup title; scored three goals in a match against Northern Ireland ... also played with the Under-20 National Team in the 2004 Milk Cup in Northern Ireland and the 2004 Busan International Tournament in South Korea.

Played and started in 16 games, including seven ACC contests; missed the Oct. 27 game against North Carolina with an ankle injury ... registered 36 points - 15 goals and six assists; established school records for points and goals ... recorded 14 points - six goals and two assists - in league action ... was named one of three finalists for the Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy recognizing the top player in college soccer; finished runner-up in the voting ... earned NSCAA All-America first-team honors; also received NSCAA All-East recognition ... was selected as the nation's premier forward by Soccer America ... captured ACC Offensive Player of the Year honors; also earned All-Conference first-team laurels ... earned College Soccer News National Player of the Week recognition on Oct. 16; was twice selected to its Team of the Week - on Oct. 2 and Oct. 16 ... ranked among the nation's leaders in points per game (2.25; first) and goals per game (.94; second) ... led all ACC scorers (league games only) in points per game (2.00), goals per game (0.86) and game-winning goals (0.29); ranked second among all players in shots per game (4.00) ... enjoyed a team-high five multiple-goal games, including one three-goal performance ... tallied a career-high seven points - three goals and one assist - in a 5-1 home win over NC State (9/29) ... registered five points - two goals and one assist - in each of three victories - against Maine (8/27), at Quinnipiac (9/26) and at Maryland (10/14) ... assisted on Mike Konicoff's first-half goal and netted the decisive tally in a 2-1 home win over St. Peter's (8/31) ... scored the team's lone goal in a 1-0 road win over Dartmouth (10/18).

Played in and started one game - the season opener at Fairleigh Dickinson (9/1); tallied an assist in the match and was injured in the first half and missed the remainder of the season ... earned preseason All-America honors from College Soccer News ... returned to action in spring of 2006 and scored two goals against the New England Revolution of the MLS in the team's spring match.

Played in and started all 20 matches at forward ... selected to the Soccer America and College Soccer News Freshman All-America teams ... garnered Big East Rookie of the Year honors ... earned NSCAA All-New England first-team honors ... led the Eagles with 22 points...tallied a team-high nine goals and four assists ... had five game-winning goals ... earned Big East Rookie of the Week honors twice (Sept. 6 and Sept. 27)... notched a goal in his first three college games, including game-winners against Cal State-Northridge and Syracuse ... assisted on BC's two goals, including Satoshi Mitsuda's gamewinner, in 2-1 win over Boston University (9/15) ... registered his first career multi-goal game in 2-0 win over Providence (9/22) ... earned Big East Offensive Player of the Week accolades for the week ending Oct. 18 after scoring game-winning goals against Yale and Pittsburgh ... had two goals in 2-0 victory over Pittsburgh on Oct. 16.

Earned Parade Magazine, EA Sports and NSCAA/adidas High School All-America honors as a senior at Brooks; selected as Parade's Forward of the Year ... was a member of both the 2004 U.S. U-20 and U-18 National Teams ... participated in the 2004 McDonald's All-American Soccer Game; tallied one goal and one assist ... was a four-time Independent School League (ISL) all-star choice at Brooks ... set ISL career records for goals (101) and points ... tallied single-season records in goals (30) and points (70) in 2003 ... along with fellow BC teammate Shane Boggis, led Brooks to a perfect 15-0-0 mark and its first Gummere Cup (ISL championship) since 1996 ... played for head coach Dusty Richards ... tallied three goals at the 2004 ODP Interregional Event at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. ... scored one goal in the U-18s 4-1 win over the University of Virginia in Bradenton, Fla.
