The Men's ski team was fast out of the gates to start the season at the Colby-Sawyer Carnival in Mount Sunapee, Maine. The Eagles took second place overall at the race, which took place on January 7th and 8th. The men finished day one in second place of the very competitive MacConnell Division. Junior Chris Burgart led the team with a very strong third place finish. Fifth year captain Stephen Fiorella in ninth place and freshman Mike Nocek in eleventh place followed him closely. Senior captain Dylan Roberts and Junior Dave Loftus rounded out the men's team with a seventeenth and nineteenth finish respectively.
The Eagles carried the momentum from day one into day two. They finished the second day in third place, led once again by Chris Burgart with a fifth place finish. Stephen Fiorella finished with a top ten finish for the second day in row, this time taking seventh place. Mike Nocek finished his impressive debut with thirteenth place day two. Dylan Roberts and Eddie Mele finished eighteenth and nineteenth respectively to help wrap up a very impressive opening race for the Eagles.
The men's ski team hopes to have continued success at their next race, the UCONN Carnival, January 14th and 15th at Cranmore Mountain.
