BOSTON, Mass. - In their first meet in over a month, the men's and women's track and field teams competed at Boston University yesterday at the BU Quad Meet. The women would finish the meet with a 3-0 record while the men compiled a record of 1-2.

Freshman Caitlin Bailey was one of several bright spots for the women as she placed first in the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:12.91 - good for third all-time in this event in Boston College history.

Juniors Tiana Riel and Mary Heitkamp, freshmen Jessica Driscoll and sophomore Katherine Sherman all earned wins for the Eagles as they handily defeated UMass-Amherst, Sacred Heart and host school Boston University to earn a sweep for the meet.

On the men's side, senior Daniel LaFave ran a great double event as he finished fourth overall in the 400 meter dash with a time of 00:49.76 and in the very next event, won the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:05.41. These two finishes place LaFave 10th and seventh respectively all-time in BC history.

Senior Mark Alizzi would take first in the 3000 meter and junior Patrick Mellea took second overall in the 1000 meter as the men defeated UMass-Amherst but would fall to Sacred Heart and Boston University to finish the meet 1-2.
