Indoor Seasons

1998-99: Leaped back into prominence in the Eastern region with a successful season, winning four of his eight competitions...Won the Harvard dual meet with a leap of 6'8.25"...Won the Harvard Selects meet, jumping 6'8"...Won the UNH/UVM meet with a jump of 6'9", tying a then career-best...Highlighted the season by winning the BIG EAST Championship with a new personal best jump of 6'11"...Also competed at the New England Championships and the IC4A meet.

1997-98: Placed third at the preliminary round of the NE Challenge Cup with a jump of 6'4.75" and followed the next week with a second-place finish at the Finals...Won the UNH/UVM meet with a jump of 6'7".

1996-97: Won his first collegiate meet with a jump of 6'9" at the Harvard dual meet...Won the preliminary round of the NE Challenge Cup...Finished third at the UNH/UVM dual meet.

Outdoor Seasons

1999: Won four meets during the season...Won the HJ with a jump of 6'9" to open the spring season at the first UConn Spring Invitational...Increased his personal best outdoor mark to 6'10.75" the next week at the second UConn meet...Traveled to California to compete in the Mt. Sac relays...Won his second BIG EAST HJ crown of the year by winning the Championships with a leap of 6'9.75"...Also competed in the New England and IC4A meets.

1998: Injured at the Snowflake Classic at Tufts, the first meet of the season, and missed the remainder of the competitions with a torn hamstring.

1997: Placed third at the UMass dual meet with a jump of 6'3.25"...Won the SCSU Pentagonal meet with a jump of 6'6"...Won the Harvard dual meet...Competed in the BIG EAST Championships and the New England Championships.

At St. Joseph's

Captured the Texas Christian Interscholastic title at the state meet...Set a personal record of 6'10"...Won the AAU Jr. Olympics as a high school freshman with a mark of 6'4"...Competed on the football, cross country and basketball teams as well as track while at St. Joseph's.


Born April 5, 1977...Enrolled in the Carroll School of Management as a finance major...Ruben is the older of Linda and Ruben Marin's two children.
