Dec. 10, 2013

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Graduate student Corinne Boyles (women's ice hockey) and freshman Thatcher Demko (men's ice hockey) have been named Eagles of the Week for their performances on the ice last week.

Boyles stopped 35 of 36 shots (.972 save percentage) in the 1-1 tie at No. 4/5 Harvard on Saturday. It marked the second-straight game that Boyles made at least 35 saves. Boyles is now 9-4-1 on the season and ranks second among Hockey East netminders in both save percentage (.930) and goals against average (1.95). She was named Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this year.

Demko saved 28 of the 29 shots he faced in a 2-1 win over New Hampshire on Saturday. The Wildcats held a 29-19 advantage in shots, but came away with the weekend sweep thanks to Demko. He improved his record to 4-1-1 this year and was also named Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week.
