Boston College's Barry Almeida has earned Hockey East Rookie of the Week accolades.

The freshman forward registered two points - one game-winning goal and one assist - in victories over Harvard (11/28) and Dartmouth (11/30).

Almeida scored the sudden-victory goal with 1:14 left in the overtime period to lift the visiting Eagles to a 2-1 win over the Big Green in Hanover, N.H. on Sunday. He assisted on Matt Price's third-period score in the team's 5-1 home win over the Crimson two nights earlier.

The Springfield, Mass., resident has recorded six points - two goals and four assists - in 13 games.

Boston College is ranked No. 2 in the most recent USCHO.com/CBS College Sports poll. The team returns to action on Friday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m. at Boston University. The game will be televised by CN8. The Eagles and Terriers will play at BC the next night on ESNPU. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m.
