WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Junior forward Johnny Gaudreau’s seven-point weekend, including both game-winning tallies over Boston University and Army, resulted in Warrior Hockey Player of the Week honors on Monday afternoon.

The Carneys Point, N.J., native combined for three goals and four assists this weekend helping the Eagles to their fourth-straight victory.

On Friday, Nov. 8, at Boston University, Gaudreau racked up his 13th-career game-winning goal alongside a pair of assists in a 5-1 triumph over the rival Terriers. The 5-9 winger followed that performance with BC’s first two goals and a couple of helpers in an 11-goal explosion over Army on Sunday, Nov. 10.

Upon completion of games through Nov. 10, Gaudreau has emerged as college hockey’s top scorer.

Gaudreau is averaging an NCAA-best 2.00 points per game and is tied for third in the country, averaging one goal per contest. He is also one of five players in the country with three game-winning goals on the season, trailing only Matt Bailey of Alaska Anchorage (4). His 14 total career game-winning tallies is the most of any current NCAA skater.

In five of Boston College’s nine outings, Gaudreau has posted a multi-point game, including three of the last four.

Gaudreau was named Hockey East Player of the Week on three occasions last season (Oct. 22, Nov. 12 and March 11) and picked up four Rookie of the Week honors on Oct. 10, Oct. 31, Feb. 13 and March 11 during the 2011-12 campaign. He has also been named the league’s top Player of the Month four times in addition to winning Hockey East Player of the Year last season as a sophomore.

On Sunday, Nov. 10, Gaudreau’s younger brother, Matthew, a freshman on this year’s club, played in his first career contest against Army. Both Gaudreau brothers scored in the contest, marking the first time a brother tandem scored a goal in the same game since Jimmy Hayes (2008-11) and Kevin Hayes at UMass Lowell on Jan. 29, 2011.

Gaudreau joins Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week Vince Hinostroza (Notre Dame) and Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week Clay Witt (Northeastern). New Hampshire was awarded Hockey East Team of the Week.

Boston College returns to league play with a trip to the Mullins Center on Thursday, Nov. 14, at Massachusetts. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. The Eagles will return to Kelley Rink on Friday evening to close out the two-game Hockey East series with UMass on Nov. 15 at 7 p.m.
