Wey Undergoes Successful Foot Surgery

Boston College junior defenseman Patrick Wey has undergone successful surgery to repair a severed tendon of his right foot, according to head coach Jerry York.

The surgery was performed on Monday, Oct. 24 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton, Mass. The defenseman is expected to miss 6-8 weeks during recovery.

A 6-foot-3, 210-pound junior from Pittsburgh, Pa., Wey sustained the injury during the second period of Boston College's 4-3 overtime victory at Northeastern on Saturday, Oct. 22.

BC (5-1-0, 3-0-0 Hockey East),which retained the nation's No. 1 national ranking in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine weekly poll and improved one position - from No. 2 to No. 1 - in the USCHO.com poll, will play at UMass-Lowell on Friday, Oct. 28. The teams will conclude the two-game weekend series in Chestnut Hill, Mass. on Saturday, Oct. 29. Faceoff for both games is 7 p.m.
