Gaudreau Earns League Rookie of the Week Honors

Boston College freshman forward Johnny Gaudreau has earned Hockey East Association Rookie of the Week honors after recording four points in the team's 6-2 win over No. 3 North Dakota in the Ice Breaker Invitational championship game.
Gaudreau scored the go-ahead goal during a power play at 13:16 of the second and had the primary assists on both of Pat Mullane's goals and the secondary assist on Steven Whitney's tally for his first four collegiate points in his second collegiate contest.
The Carneys Point, N.J., resident, made his collegiate debut against Michigan State on Friday, Oct. 7 and finished the game with a +1 rating before his four-point performance against North Dakota.
Boston College (2-0-0, 0-0-0 Hockey East) will host Denver (0-0-0, 0-0-0 WCHA) on Friday, Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the team's home-opening game. It will be televised nationally by CBS College Sports with Eric Frede (play-by-play) and Dave Starman (color analyst) calling the action.
