April 1, 2014

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Freshman Fallyn Boich (women's track & field) and junior Johnny Gaudreau (men's hockey) have been named Eagles of the Week for their performances last week.

Boich established a new Boston College record in the javelin at 40.09m this weekend at the Raleigh Relays. It was her third-ever collegiate attempt in the event. She topped Kasey Hill's 2008 record of 39.32m. Boich finished eighth in the event and qualified for the New England Championships.

Gaudreau recorded three goals and five assists in Boston College's two NCAA Tournament victories over the weekend. He secured his first career hat trick in the 6-2 win over Denver and added three assists. It was the second-most points scored in an NCAA Tournament game. He then added a pair of assists in the Eagles' 4-3 win over UMass Lowell.

Women's track and field will compete in the UConn Invitational on Saturday while men's hockey has the week off to prepare for Union in the Frozen Four which begins on April 10.
