Fourth-seeded Boston College, which defeated Providence in Hockey East Tournament quarterfinal-round action this weekend, will face No. 1 seed New Hampshire on Friday, March 21, 2008 at 5 p.m. in semifinal action in Boston's TD Banknorth Garden.
The top four seeds in the league tournament all advanced to the semifinals. No. 2 seed Boston University will play third-seeded Vermont in Friday's second semifinal set to faceoff at 8 p.m.
Both semifinal games will be broadcast live by the New England Sports Network (NESN). The winners of each semifinal will faceoff on Saturday, March 22 at 7 p.m.
The Eagles advanced to the semifinal round after defeating the Friars in consecutive games by scores of 5-1 and 5-1. It marks the fourth straight season that BC has advanced to the semifinal round.
BC has captured a league-high seven Hockey East tournament titles, including two of the last three (2005 and 2007).
Boston College defeated New Hampshire in last winter's league championship game.
