Boston College forward Chris Kreider has earned a share of Hockey East Player of the Week honors, according to a league announcement made on Monday.
Kreider, a 6-foot-3, 225-pound junior, registered a team-high five points - two goals and three assists - in a two-game series sweep of New Hampshire over the weekend. He recorded three points - one (shorthanded) goal and two assists - in the 4-3 win over the Wildcats on Friday night (Jan. 27) at Conte Forum and followed that up with two points - one goal and one assist - in the 3-2 overtime victory on Saturday at the Whittemore Center.
Kreider leads all Boston College scorers with 30 points - 16 goals and 14 assists - this season. He has registered four power-play goals and three shorthanded goals.
With two wins over the weekend, Boston College (16-10-1, 12-7-1) checked in at No. 5 in both national polls also released on Monday.
Next, the Eagles will face Northeastern in the first round of the 60th Annual Beanpot at TD Garden on Monday, Feb. 6 at 8 p.m. The game will be televised by the New England Sports Network.
