DURHAM, N.H. - Boston College men's hockey fans can follow the Eagles - New Hampshire game at the Whittemore Center on Saturday, Jan. 28 beginning at 6:45 p.m., via the cover it live blog. Fans can submit comments during the game via the blog as well.
The Eagles enter Saturday's league series finale with a record of 15-10-1, including an 11-7-1 record in Hockey East play. Boston College beat New Hampshire, 4-3, last night and earned a 5-1 win over the Wildcats in Durham on Oct. 15.
In the team's previous trip to the Whittemore Center, four players tallied two-point performances and Parker Milner recorded a career-high 39 saves to lead top-ranked Boston College to a 5-1 win at No. 15 New Hampshire. New Hampshire outshot BC, 40-25, in the contest, including a 20-9 edge in the second period. Bill Arnold, Paul Carey and Johnny Gaudreau registered one goal and one assist each and Barry Almeida notched two assists for the victors, who won their third straight over New Hampshire. The Eagles beat New Hampshire 4-3 in its only trip to Durham, N.H., on March 5 last winter and improved to 4-0-2 in its last six games in the Whittemore Center
Boston College has utilized three goaltenders through 25 games this winter - freshman Brian Billett, junior Parker Milner and senior Chris Venti. Billett has started eight of the team's last 13 games and is 3-4-1 with a 2.66 goals against average (GAA) and .907 save percentage. Milner started 13 straight games to open the season and is 11-4-0 with a 2.43 GAA and a .901 save percentage. The Pittsburgh, Pa., native is scheduled to get his second straight start at New Hampshire tonight. Venti has started two of the last four games. He is 1-1-0 with a 2.34 GAA and a .889 save percentage.
Following tonight's game, BC will have concluded league regular-season series with six teams - New Hampshire (2-0-0), Northeastern (3-0-0), UMass-Lowell (2-1-0), Maine (1-2-0), Boston University (1-2-0) and Massachusetts (1-2-0).
