#7/#8 Boston College returns to action this weekend against New Hampshire on Friday, Jan. 27 in the first of a two-game home-and-home series between the Eagles and Wildcats at Kelley Rink in Chestnut Hill, Mass. at 7:35 p.m. Friday's game will be televised by the New England Sports Network.
The Eagles are 5-3-1 in eight home games in 2011-12 and are hosting their first opponent on the Kelley Rink ice since Boston College and Merrimack skated to a 3-3 tie on Jan. 8.
Boston College is tied with Merrimack for second place in the Hockey East regular-season standings with a 10-7-1 conference mark. New Hampshire enters this weekend's action in eighth place at 6-9-1. Following this weekend's games, BC will have concluded league regular-season series with six teams - New Hampshire, Maine (1-2-0), Northeastern (3-0-0), UMass-Lowell (2-1-0), Boston University (1-2-0) and Massachusetts (1-2-0).
Boston College enters this weekend's two-game series having gone 6-9-1 in its last 16 games. It has been averaging 2.4 goals per game while allowing an average of 3.0 goals per game during this stretch. It opened the 2011-12 campaign 8-1-0 and averaging 4.6 goals per game.
Boston College has utilized three goaltenders through 25 games this winter - freshman Brian Billett, junior Parker Milner and senior Chris Venti. Billett has started eight of the team's last 12 games and is 3-4-1 with a 2.66 goals against average (GAA) and .907 save percentage. Milner started 13 straight games to open the season and is 10-4-0 with a 2.39 GAA and a .905 save percentage. Venti has started two of the last three games. He is 1-1-0 with a 2.34 GAA and a .889 save percentage.
Sophomore Bill Arnold is scoring goals on an average of 25.5 percent of his shots (12 goals on 47 shots) while senior alternate captain Barry Almeida is scoring goals on an average of 22.2 percent of his shots (14 goals on 63 shots).
