Jan. 21, 2014

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Seniors Kevin Hayes (men's hockey) and Katie Zenevitch (women's basketball) have been named Eagles of the Week for their performances last week.

Already coming into Saturday's game on a nine-game point streak, Hayes put an exclamation point on his 10th-straight game with a point by scoring a hat trick along with a pair of assists to help defeat Maine, 7-2. In Friday's triumph over rival Boston University, Hayes doled out a pair of assists. In the January 18 tilt against Maine, Hayes set new career highs for goals in a game (3), points in a game (5) and consecutive outings having scored at least one point (10). He was named the Hockey East Warrior Player of the Week.

Zenevitch shot 50 percent from the floor and averaged 11.0 points and 6.5 rebounds as the Eagles went 1-1 last week. Zenevitch notched her fifth double-double of the season in a win over Miami on Thursday. She finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds in the win. She followed that up with 10 points and three rebounds vs. North Carolina on Sunday. Zenevitch is the Eagles second-leading scorer (11.6) and leading rebounder (6.9).

No. 2 men's hockey (16-4-3, 10-1-1 HEA) has games at Merrimack and Penn State this week while women's basketball (11-8, 2-3 ACC) is at NC State on Thursday before hosting Wake Forest on Sunday.
