Boston College junior Nathan Gerbe has earned Hockey East Player of the Week honors, according to a league announcement made on Monday.
Gerbe recorded five points -- two goals and three assists -- and a team-high plus-five rating in consecutive victories over Vermont last week. He extended his goal-scoring streak to eight games, during which he has registered 25 points - 13 goals and 12 assists.
The Oxford, Mich., resident registered one goal and two assists in the team's 4-1 win on Wednesday and totaled one goal - the gamewinner - and assisted on Brock Bradford's shorthanded goal in a 5-2 BC win on Friday.
The honor marks Gerbe's third weekly league honor this season. He also earned conference and national player of the month honors for December.
Gerbe has tallied 99 points -- 54 goals and 45 assists -- in 99 collegiate games. With 18 goals and 34 points in 19 games this season, Gerbe leads the nation in points per game (1.79) and goals per game (0.95).
