BC to Sport New Gold Jersey for Frozen Fenway
Jan. 3, 2014
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College will sport a new gold jersey on Saturday night when the Eagles and Notre Dame meet for the first time as Hockey East opponents at Fenway Park as part of Citi Frozen Fenway 2014.
The jerseys are a Neo Classic design by Under Armour that pays homage to the uniforms worn by the Eagles in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.
Inspired by BC hockey heritage, the jersey has new modern performance twists including a tighter fit, quick-dry micro mesh fabrication and articulated sleeves.
The gold sweater will feature `Boston College' stretched across the top while the sleeves are accented by maroon and white piping. The Eagles will also wear new gold socks with matching piping.
Fans can purchase a replica jersey online at bceagles.com starting Saturday, Jan. 4, at 7 p.m. or by visiting the Boston College bookstore's Hillside Shop during normal business hours beginning on Monday, Jan. 6.
Boston College and Notre Dame face off on the second game of Hockey East's showcase on Saturday, Jan. 4, at 7:35 p.m. The Eagles - Fighting Irish game will be preceded by Providence - Merrimack at 4 p.m. The following Saturday, Jan. 11, UMass Lowell and Northeastern will square off before Boston University hosts Maine.
