WAKEFIELD, Mass. -  Junior goaltender Brian Billett (Brunswick, Maine) was heralded as the Hockey East ‘Stop It’ Goaltender of the Month after a sterling three-game performance in December.

The Brunswick, Maine, native started three of Boston College’s four games last month, and came out with a 3-0-0 mark. Billett’s .970 save percentage (97-of-100) and 1.04 goals against average helped the third-year backstopper finish with an unblemished December record.

In the Eagles’ semifinal game of the Three Rivers Classic, Billett shutout Bowling Green, 5-0, stopping all 27 shots faced for his first-career shutout in 20 starts as an Eagle.

Thursday’s decoration marks Billett’s second-career Hockey East award. On Nov. 28, 2011, Billett was tabbed the Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week. This marks BC’s first Goaltender of the Month honor since Parker Milner won the award in February 2012.

Billett’s merit marks Boston College’s eighth Hockey East award this season and third monthly decoration.
