Men's Hockey Defeats Providence College, 4-3, In Overtime

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Junior Matt Price netted the game-winning goal 45 seconds into overtime to lift Boston College to a 4-3 Hockey East victory over Providence College before 2,393 fans in Schneider Arena.
The host Friars scored each of the game's first three goals before BC responded three goals in regulation and Price's overtime gamewinner.
Senior captain Brock Bradford got BC on the scoreboard at 13:24 of the second period. The Burnaby, British Columbia, resident then trimmed the Eagles' deficit to one goal - at 3-2 - on his second score of the night - his 21st goal of the season - at 4:37 of the third period.
Senior Andrew Orpik tied the game just more than three minutes later - at 7:49.
Sophomore goalie John Muse made 23 saves to earn his 15th win of the season and the 40th of his collegiate career. PC freshman Alex Beaudry made 29 saves to take the loss.
BC outshot PC, 33-26 in the game, including a 14-5 edge in the opening period. Yet, Providence College scored twice for an early 2-0 lead heading into the middle frame.
Junior Chris Eppich opened the scoring just 1:24 into the contest.
Freshman Matt Bergland doubled the host Friars lead a little more than halfway through the opening frame - at 10:57.
PC increased its lead to three goals at 3:42 of the middle period on junior Mark Fayne's fourth goal of the season.
Boston College finished the three-game season series against Providence with a 2-0-1 record.
