BOSTON - Junior Cam Atkinson scored with 2:11 left in regulation to trim Northeastern's lead in half and Boston College attempted five shots in the final 1:32 while skating with an extra attacker, but the visiting Eagles could not score the equalizer as the Huskies defeated top-ranked BC, 2-1, before a sellout crowd of 4,666 fans in Matthews Arena.
Northeastern sophomore goaltender Chris Rawlings recorded 36 saves to capture the victory and snap Boston College's seven game unbeaten streak that dated back to Jan. 21.
Brodie Reid broke a scoreless tie in the 13th minute of the second period and Braden Pimm put Northeastern up 2-0 at 7:38 of the third period.
The visiting Eagles outshot the Huskies, 37-21, including a 14-4 edge in the scoreless opening period.
BC senior goaltender John Muse made 19 saves in 58:28 to take the loss. He falls to 19-5-1.
Both teams finished 0-for-2 on the power play.
The Eagles and Huskies met for the third time in six days and had combined for 27 goals in the last two match-ups prior to tonight's league-series finale.
