THATCHER DOUGLAS DEMKO; born December 8, 1995...shoots left...played the 2012-13 season with the United State National Team Development Program in the United States Hockey League...attended Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2014-15):Played and started in 35 games; missed two games in early January while representing Team USA at the World Junior Championship … went 19-13-3 … registered a 2.19 goals against average and a .925 save percentage; went 12-7-3 with a 2.17 goals against average and a .924 save percentage as the start in all 22 Hockey East contests … tabbed a Hockey East All-Star Honorable Mention … posted the fourth-best save percentage (.925) in Hockey East … picked up his third-career shutout at Notre Dame (2/27) … recorded his fourth-career assist in the season opener at UMass Lowell (10/10) … set a career best in save for the third time in four starts, stopping 41 shots against Michigan (12/13) … stopped 40 shots, second most of his career, in a 6-5 victory over Vermont (2/14) … anchored BC’s defense with 32 saves in a game one win of the HEA quarterfinals against Vermont (3/13)…stopped 22 shots in game two of the HEA quarterfinals against Vermont (3/14)…steered away 22-of-23 Vermont attempts in game three against Vermont of the HEA quarterfinals (3/15).

AS A FRESHMAN (2013-14)
:Played in and started 24 games; missed two games in late December while representing Team USA at the World Junior Championship ... went 16-5-3 ... registered a 2.24 goals against average and a .919 save percentage; went 9-1-1 with a 1.35 goals against average and a .948 save percentage in 11 Hockey East contests ... captured a share of the program's Bernie Burke Outstanding Freshman Award with Steve Santini ... earned All Hockey East Rookie Team honors and Hockey East honorable mention ... won the Hockey East `Stop It' Goaltending Championship after registering the lowest goals against average mark since Jimmy Howard's (Maine) record of 1.15 in 2003-04 ... garnered Hockey Commissioners' Associational National Division I Rookie of the Month honors for January as well as Hockey East Association Rookie of the Month ... earned two more conference honors as Defensive Player of the Week (12/9) and Rookie of the Month (2/3) ... stopped 29-of-30 shots to backstop Boston College to its fifth-straight Beanpot trophy (2/10)...won the Eberly Award (goaltender with best overall save percentage in Beanpot) with a save rate of .966, marking the second-best save percentage in Beanpot Tournament history (2/10) ... recorded two shutouts over the course of the season, including 30 stops at Providence (1/31) and 33 saves against UMass Lowell ... tallied three assists, including one against Denver at the NCAA Regional in Worcester, Mass. (3/29).

BEFORE BC:Played the 2012-13 season with the U.S. National Under-18 team where he posted a 30-9-4 recorded with a .910 save percentage and six shutouts...was 3-0-0 in the Four Nations Under-18 tournament...registered an 8-2-3 record against college programs with wins against Michigan and Merrimack...played the 2011-12 season with the Omaha Lancers in the USHL...registered a 9-3-0 record with one shutout.

PERSONAL: Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences ... is the 2013-14 recipient of the E. Paul Robsham, Jr. Goalie Scholarship Fund in Men's Hockey ... was selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the second round (36th overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft ... Thatcher is the son of Danielle and Brenton Demko.
