Clemmensen Earns Hockey East Rookie of the Week Honors
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College freshman goaltender Scott Clemmensen (Urbandale, Iowa/Urbandale) earned Hockey East Rookie of the Week honors for the week ending January 11. It is the second time this season that Clemmensen has earned the weekly accolade (Nov. 10).
Clemmensen allowed just two goals in 135 minutes of action as the Eagles defeated top-ranked Boston University, 4-2, and battled to a scoreless tie with Maine. It was Clemmensen's second shutout of the season. Clemmensen totalled 36 saves in the two games.
For the season, Clemmensen has an 8-6-2 record, a 2.94 goals against average, and an .875 save percentage. In his last 219 minutes of action, Clemmensen has allowed just five goals on 77 shots, a 1.36 goals against average and a .935 save percentage.
Boston College (12-6-3, 6-4-2) is currently in a four-way tie for first place in the Hockey East standings. The Eagles return to action this weekend with a home-and-home series with Providence (12-6-1, 6-4-0).
