Hutchins Earns HOCKEY EAST Player of the Week Accolades

Goaltender McLaughlin Named to Honor Roll

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Two members of the Boston College hockey team earned accolades from HOCKEY EAST for their fine play for the week ending December 14.

Sophomore forward Tony Hutchins (Wolfeboro, N.H./Lawrence Academy) earned Player of the Week honors for his two-goal performance in the Eagles' 3-3 overtime tie at Boston University on December 9. It was Hutchins' second multiple-goal effort this season. After 17 games, Hutchins is tied for seventh on the team with 11 points (8 goals, 3 assists).

Junior goaltender Andy McLaughlin (Milton, Mass./Milton Academy) was named to the Honor Roll for his career-high 36-save performance against Boston University. McLaughlin bested his previous high of 27, set back in 1995-96 against Michigan State. For the season, McLaughlin is 4-0-1 and has a 2.55 goals against average and an .898 save percentage.

Off to their best start since 1990-91, the Eagles are 11-5-1. Last week, the Eagles were ranked ninth in the USA TODAY/American College Magazine Poll. Boston College will resume play on December 27 against Northern Michigan in the first round of the Bank One Badger Showdown in Milwaukee, Wis.
