Jackopsic Named To All-ACC Academic Golf Team

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Boston College junior John Jackopsic was named to the 2014 All-ACC Academic Men's Golf Team, as announced today by Commissioner John Swofford.
Jackopsic, a native of West Hartford, Conn., is double major (communications and philosophy) at BC. Jackopsic played in nine tournaments this past year for the Eagles. He finished in 21st place at the 2014 ACC Golf Championship after a third round 74 at the Old North State Club.
A team co-captain, Jackopsic's 21st-place finish was the highest for a BC golfer since 2008. He placed a season-best of sixth at Notre Dame Oak Invitation by shooting a low of 69 in the third round.
The ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards were established in September 2007 to be awarded annually to the top junior or senior student-athlete in their respective sports. Candidates for the awards must have maintained a 3.0 grade point average for their career as well as a 3.0 for each of the last two semesters.
To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic Team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
