South Kent, CT- The men's golf team finished eighth out of seventeen teams at the Hartford Hawk Invitational. The team shot a combined 903, +39 on the par 72 course in three rounds of play and tied for the second lowest team score for round one.
Andy Mai led the Eagles shooting a 217, +1 and tied for eighth out of 89 players. Mai also had the best round one score in the tournament shooting a 67. Luke Feehan took second for the Eagles shooting a 226, +10. Mark Endres (229, +13), John
Jackopsic (223, +17) and Kevin Melnick (224, +28) rounded out the top five.
The top three teams at the invitational were the University of Connecticut (868, +4), the University of Loyola Maryland (876, +12) and St. John's University (877, +13).
The Eagles will be back in action October 3 at the NC State Invitational.
