Zukauskas Earns All-America Honors
Dec. 7, 2000
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College senior tackle Paul Zukauskas picked up a pair of All-American honors on Thursday as he was named first team by the American Football Coaches' Association and second team by the Walter Camp Foundation.
Earlier in the week, Zukauskas was named first team All-America by Rivals.com. Zukauskas was named first team all-BIG EAST Conference following the 2000 season and was the leader of an offensive line that allowed only six sacks all season.
He helped the BC offense rank third in the BIG EAST in total offense at 414.9 yards per game and rushing offense at 201.0 yards per game.
The line cleared the way for running back William Green to gain 1,164 yards -- marking the third-straight season that BC has had a 1,000-yard rusher.
Zukauskas started 10 games this season and has a total of 33 career starts, plus one bowl game. He started every game of his sophomore and junior seasons and started last year's Insight.com bowl game.
Zukauskas and the Eagles will play in the Aloha Bowl on Mon., December 25 at 3:30 p.m. against Arizona State. The game will be televised nationally on ABC.
