Dec. 5, 1999
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College football team is headed to Tucson, Ariz., to
play in its first postseason bowl game since 1994. On Sunday
afternoon, BC officially accepted a bid to play in the Dec. 31
"This is a great tribute to our coaching staff and our players,
especially our seniors," Coach Tom O'Brien says. "We are extremely
excited to be going to Tucson. I've said before that our team might
not be as talented as some, but our players have hearts bigger than all
the oceans in the world."
After going 4-7 last season, BC engineered the third-best
turnaround in college football this year, finishing the regular season
with an 8-3 record.
